TR REGISTER AUST. (WA) DIVISION 2008 CALENDAR revised April 08

Hello to you all. Well we managed to avoid the searing heat that we had from last year for this years annual classic car show at Whitman Park, although only a few TR's turned out, holding it on the same day as the Australian F1 would no doubt impact on numbers!

The meeting at the Glengarry tavern was the best attended thus far with seven members turning out for this. Mike Hewlett and his lovely wife ventured out in their TR3A now sporting chrome wire wheels all the way from Kalamunda for the gathering, which was great to see. Mike has done a fantastic job of restoring his car it is a credit to him the Lotus White suits the car superbly, but I have to agree with Mike's wife that the Chrome wires just make it…..sorry Mike!

Ken McKimmie is still pushing ahead with his plans to sell his beloved TR3A, which would make a very easy restoration project for someone, and a car that has a history file virtually from new!

Well we have a number of social runs now coming up and will be joining in with the ‘other' Triumph clubs for some of these. Theo's Run is out to the country town of Dowerin and is one such event. There is a bit of a competition theme to this event with time trials and demonstrations on closed sections of road, but this would make a great spectators event even if you are not entering. Entry fee is $10.00. Dowerin is home to the new ‘Wheatfields Motorplex' although not complete yet this will give us a look at progress for future events likely to be staged there. Meet at Cnr Lewis Jones Close and Toodyay Rd for an 8am departure (service station carpark, opposite Jane Brook Winery). It is about a 1¼ hr drive. Sun 18 th May – National Motoring Heritage Day Gingin.

June TBA – Albany around the houses.

Sun TBA Oct – All Triumph and Standard Day
