"My car was bought in Newcastle NSW in 1964-5 by my father as a 17 or 18 year old, it was driven until 1973 and stored in a side shed at his parents place with one side covered , the other side was subject to some weather and also had a resident goanna living in it. My mum , dad and I picked it up in 1988 and trailered it to my parents place and stored it in much better conditions. My father passed away in june 1992 and the TR was subsequently left to me. As a young aspiring mechanic/ teenager who knew everything I started stripping the car as a 15 year old ,something that I later regretted, the full restoration started in December 2006 and has just been completed. It was originally brg with red vinyl interior and disk wheels , it is now white pearl with minilite replica wheels." |
